Last week, Shane had a Doctor’s appointment for a checkup to see how he is doing. Shane has gotten some indications from his last Dr appt from Monday April 13th that his cancer may be returning, there are some symptoms that the Dr. is concerned about. At this point I really do not know much more then that. Obviously we are very concerned and our prayers are with him.
I feel just sick to my stomach about this. I have feared this and feared this from day 1. It was a secret fear, but none the less a fear. Shane is heavy and I feel he needs to take better care of himself. He does not eat healthy. I have always had a hard time even when he was growing up to get him to eat healthy. Kirsten was always a better eater and she would eat vegetables and fruits.
I know my mom was healed of her breast cancer when I was 24 years old and it was probably stage 3 or 4. So I know that God can heal. Also our Pastor’s wife was healed of cancer last year.
There seems to be a lot of sad news with sick pets and people in our blogging world. I feel so bad for everyone.
Okay a little bit about my Tea Party day last Thursday. There was nothing offensive about the day, no rude or crude people it was all just a lot of every day folks like me. Mom went with me, Steve wanted to go but had to work. Had it been on a Saturday there would have been a larger crowd, though it was large enough. We were like sardines smashed in to view the speakers.
The Tea Parties across the country turned out better then I thought and we got good local news coverage, but bad cable coverage except for Fox News, they did cover and participated in covering the story. It was front page news in the Sacramento Bee on Friday Morning, Sacramento had about 5000 people, but it was a great crowd. It was not really a protest, but more of a Rally and it was very uplifting. We had some good speakers like Michael Reagan, Armstrong and Getty, they are local Radio talk show hosts, and we had Tom McClintock from my district there as well. People were chanting “Vote Them Out” to all the government officials who spend and waste. We plan to get together again July 4th for another event across the country. More than half a MILLION Americans took part on April 15. Some news people are saying we are right wing crazies and what I saw was moms, dads, children, grandparents, veterans, working people in a suit and tie, people from every race, people that are British and people from France that became American citizens. They all wanted to take part in what they believe is out of control spending.
There was a guy there that I had never seen before but he is so funny! his name is Alfonzo and he had us singing and dancing, I think he may be a comedian and he is African American. He was the funniest guy. I looked him up on the Internet and watched his youtube videos they are hilarious.
Okay well this week I am busy crafting and Friday Steve and I are going to San Francisco if everything is okay for us to go. With Shane we are not quite sure what will happen next. So it’s a wait and see thing right now. One day at time.

No new job yet, only 4 weeks now since I was laid off. Even in good a economy a good job doesn’t come along that fast. A rule of thumb I learned many years ago. 1 month for every $10,000 you are looking for in a salary. So if it were in a better economy we are looking at 4 1/2 months. I am still very optimistic that I will find the perfect job. Hope you have a great week. I know it is easy for me to say but try not to worry. You have a strong faith so I am sure you will get thru this bump in the road. Hugs, Dru
Hi Kat! I hope Shane will be okay and I’m glad that his doctor seems to be monitoring him closely. Things like that put what I’m going thru with Kali in perspective if you know what I mean. I love my animals but it’s not like it’s my son or daughter or husband! Keep me posted and take care! (((Hugz)))

I am a true believer in thinking that what we eat and put into our bodies can make or break us. Maybe there is someway you can get him to eat better. I know i’ve heard that cancer feeds off of sugar and high carbs.
I also learned that most of the chemo drugs that Ben is getting is high concentrations of herbs, etc.
I probably mentioned we had a huge Tea Party here. Anyway, loved your comment! Will say prayers for Shane and hope it isn’t true. Want me to send him one of my broccoli’s?

I had watched on the news about the TEA parties, which is great. Henry and I pay more taxes than we put into our bank account - it’s unreal. I had said, excuse me if I’m being rude, but I had said I’m tired of paying for Senator’s whores, banks that made their money - plus - and now need bailing out because of their own fault. Other polititions that use taxpayers money for their transportation/dining out/etc. The Pittsburgh mayor was caught using the government vehicle to drive to the Detroit super bowl, and was slapped on the wrist. After that, he then used taxpayers money to buy $1000 hockey tickets - because it was an expense … WHAT? … and these people keep getting away with this, and it will NEVER change. It frustrates me so much.

Oh Kat! That is so disheartening about Shane! I will keep him in my prayers. My sister is overweight and I fear for her health. She’s been losing her hair like no tomorrow and they don’t know why. She needs to lose weight so badly. I guess we’ll just have to keep the both of them in prayer. I’ll be back to get updates.

I was very disappointed how the media and some left wingers portrayed the people at the Tea Party calling them Right Wing Nuts, Ultra Conservative, etc. Let me just say that I have never been a Republican and have never voted Republican and I was all for the Tea Party. Those people just refuse to see the reasoning behind the Tea Party. Too bad for them, I say.
