I seem to be okay after my Flip and then Flop. My back hurts a bit now and then.
I’ve been so busy these past weeks, with my new camera, decorating, painting and spending time with Morgan, And also I have been very busy over at my Jewelry & Crystal Suncatcher Website.
I have so many photos I want to share, but I can’t share them all. I have not uploaded the bathroom photos yet.
As I was painting the bathroom Steve went to get the mirrors to hang that we had stored in the garage until we were ready for them. He started hanging them and even drilled into the mirror, when I said wow!!……. that’s so dark don’t you think? the cherry wood on the mirror was darker then the cherry wood on our bathroom cabinets. He hung them both anyway. We finished the bathroom painting which is two rooms and hanging of the mirrors with new light fixtures 5 hours later. Afterwards I finally stood back to look at the view of the bathroom, I was not sure liked it, but yet I didn’t hate it either.
I was telling my high school friend Terry and she said this is all the rage to have mixed woods and colors and she sees it in all the new houses. She told me everything is not suppose to be all matchy, matchy.
Last night after we were done, I was kind of pouty and sad because I had a different vision of what it was all going to look like and this was not what I had planned, so Steve said if I wanted later he would get me new mirrors. We will see what happens. I am still working on paying for what I am doing.
I have also been really busy selling things on Ebay and doing pretty good with all that. This all takes time, but it will be worth it in the end to get rid of stuff I don’t want and can actually get a decent price for and use that money to save to replace all the money I have spent on decorating and the camera. I am getting close to getting it all paid for.
Once I start something there is no stopping me I am very determined.
I still need to repaint the trim in the bathroom it needs an update in there. But the walls look fabulous in the New England Yellow, it’s kind of gold and yellow. Really pretty. I am a sunny personality when it comes to picking out paint colors. That may be quite the opposite of my personality, I am not sure……… I am not particularly sunny all the time, but I am not dreary and mysterious either.
I think I use colors that are suitable to the way I want to feel, so that’s probably a good thing for me since I do have a tendency to get down easily. Anyway it’s been a nice June, mostly cool, but the last few days have been warm and we are using the air conditioner now. The owl, her name is Sophia, A deer taking care of business literally, this was to funny. Morgan made a little video which was taken on the American River in Sacramento where I grew up, well in the suburbs of Sacramento actually. It was a small town while I was growing up called Rancho Cordova. I grew up along the American River and we were never home in the summer it seemed, but were always on the river riding our bikes on the trails and running off into the woods. It was interesting that’s for sure. Now a days parents would freak out over this kind of activity for their kids alone, but when I was young in the 70’s we did it all the time. And if we were not at the river, we were at the pool swimming all day long. Wherever water was is where I wanted to be. In the summers we would go visit my aunt Joan in southern CA and go to the beach too.
And Yes I went for a hike on the river with my purse. I forgot my backpack that day. Click Here for the link to Morgan’s Video she made. It’s silly and cute about 45 seconds long video she took of herself on the American River while we went on our nature walk.
As usual I can’t get the Video to go in my blog. I’m going to have to find me a Plugin for that. I already have a video icon in the dashboard, but when I try to put the URL in there it paste nothing into it. It might be because I have a Mac. I have problems on Ebay to while adding items for sale and have to get my laptop out to finish the job.
Don’t forget to read my silly poem, it will make you smile. The Candy Bars
I want to fall to sleep under the Milky Way
I want to wake up to a Payday every single day
I want to go shopping on 5th Avenue
I want to Skittle all the day
I want to Skor some Mr. Goodbars
I want to Rolo Oh’ Henry…………..and the 3 Musketeers
and Baby Ruth of course
Then I will be so Almond Joy
I will lick my Butterfinger
and then visit Clark and Kit Kat
then like a Dove I will fly away
with some Good News
and at Midnight ……….I will watch the Starburst
and get a Hershey’s Kiss under the moonlight.

I took this flag photo today it’s a nice flag with embroidered stars on it.
Yesterday I fell in my backyard while wearing some flip flops and hurt my back and legs and it feels like a mac truck ran over me now. It’s what happened is that on one end of the patio Steve and I put up a bamboo shade to keep the sun off on that end so I can sit on the swing during the evenings and enjoy shade on that end. But we leave the shade down just because it’s easier, I was walking to the garbage can to throw some things away and I walked around the shade and put my foot onto the sidewalk after leaving the patio and my foot slipped off my flip flop and I fell right onto the cement sidewalk. The way I ended up it was a good thing that my head didn’t crack open and my leg didn’t break. So I took a flip and a flop and think I figured out why they name the sandals flip flops! well at least for me, besides the fact they go flip and flop when you walk. Today it’s hard to get around I feel like an old lady.
Well I got the camera and I have been enjoying it since last Friday. Here are some flower photos I took, my very first photos from my new camera. After reading the directions in my book that came with the camera I was ready to go give it a try. There are so many things to this camera so I have a lot to learn about it. But I love the auto focus feature and zoom lens, that lets you make the background fade somewhat away as you focus in on what you want to take a photo of and the images are very crisp and clear. If you click the photo it’s a album cover to my flickr album, you can see my first flower photos I took with the new camera in that album and if you click on each photo a larger photo will open up. I think the photos turned out really great. I love this camera!
On Sunday after Church Steve and I stopped at Lowe’s and we looked at the mirrors I wanted for the bathroom, I am going to start painting this next week and I want to get everything I will need for the little update in the bathroom. Well to my delight each of the mirrors were on sale for $49.99 and they were regularly $99.00! these are the cherry wood framed ones I was speaking of a few posts back, which by the way will match my cabinets in the bathroom because they are cherry wood also. So we bought two of them, that is one over each sink.
I was so happy to find them on sale. We picked out a light fixture also, but we did not buy that yet, we will get that after I am done painting, maybe it will go on sale too!
Next week I also want to get Morgan and take her to theEffie Yeaw Nature Center and then take her to the Cheesecake Factory that is where she loves to go have lunch. I would keep her over night, but she does not have a bed time and Steve and I both don’t agree with this, we both think she should have a bedtime and that way she is not cranky either. But because I would just cramp her style, I will take her back home after we spend the day together. Since her parents don’t make her go to bed at a certain time how can I?
In July or August when we go to North Shore Lake Tahoe for our yearly day trip, I will keep her overnight then, but I will make her go to bed by at least 10 PM. I am sure she will be upset since she does not have to go to bed at a certain time. But she gets very cranky when she does not get her proper rest. I also just don’t agree with that for a 10 year old.
It’s funny the name of the place I am taking Morgan on Monday is Effie Yeaw, which Effie is my great grandmother’s name and also my dogs. LOL! I have never been there, but heard a lot of great things about the place.
Tomorrow I am going to have the carpet cleaned by Zerorez, they do a great job and don’t use chemicals or soaps. They are the best company ever that I have used to clean my carpets, I truly mean that. My carpet comes out so clean and it stays that way without matting down and the dirt reappearing.
Next month is our 21st anniversary and I told Steve to take his vacation pay, but instead lets take his three days off and go to Oregon, but they changed the rules and now no one can have their vacation pay unless they take vacation.
I really can’t wait until Steve finds a new job, it really sucks there since all this stuff started happening with GM. When Steve worked for Saturn it was the best company he ever worked for. They were fantastic. He made so much money there last year. This year our lives are so changed basically turned upside down, and the money he makes is awful for the hours he puts in.
Starting in August we are going to be living on a shoestring budget and no more spending, because I want to put away as much money as I can incase there is job change or move coming in the future for us. We are both thinking that we need to make some changes in our lives.
We have the house all fixed up and Steve and I cleaned out the garage so nice that we don’t have any junk hardly anymore in there. We got rid of tons of stuff. It feels so good to get rid of all that stuff we don’t want or don’t use any more. So if we do have a move in the future then the house looks good and is ready to go for a sale if that is what we need to do.
I have also put some old collections of mine for sale that I no longer want or need. Once I get rid of this stuff I can put all that money towards my new camera. Then I don’t have to feel bad I bought it when we really can’t afford such things right now.
I figured I might as well get rid of some collections I have that I started when I was younger and no longer add to or care about anymore. I am so tired of that kind of stuff.
Yesterday Steve and I watched Revolutionary Road it was a very depressing movie. It kept my attention, but I found it a real downer for the times in which we live, so I would not have watched that movie had I have known what it was about.
I am more in the mood for lighthearted movies right now, such as comedy would be best for me.
Have a great week!
Hello here I am……..I got bit in the corner of my eye from a Mosquito on Saturday night and my eye got all swollen, it itched so bad and I made it worse by rubbing it I’m sure. I couldn’t fall asleep cause I had several bites. I was miserable.
On Sunday I slept in instead of getting up and going to church cause I was so tired from my itchy problems. Later in the day Steve and I decided to go to Old Sacramentoto have lunch at my favorite Restaurant in Sacramento called Joe’s Crab Shack.
They were busy so we had to wait awhile but it’s worth it. When certain music comes on the servers stop whatever it is they are doing and dance in the isles for everyone, it’s so cute and very entertaining because some of them could not dance and one girl was very pregnant, that was adorable.
Here is our photo from Old Sacramento. It was a nice day on Sunday, today is cloudy and ugly and chilly out. It’s been a cool, very cool June so far.
Here is my dinner, crab cakes, Steve had the seafood platter with Calamari Rings.
Today I went to watch Morgan’s 5th grade graduation ceremony with my mom. Morgan will be going to Jr. High in the 6th grade. I would not like this for my child, but I am a country girl and here in Lincoln we don’t send the wee one’s to Jr. High until the 7th grade, which I feel is more appropriate. How her mom got her in the school district here in our county is beyond me? They live in Sac County and that school she is going to be attending is very popular and hard to get into. We have some really good schools here in Placer County. But I am glad she is going there since I hear it’s a very good school and I just read an article about how great our schools are here.
I have been pulling out English Ivy and Vines and planted a little flower garden. It does not look like much right now, but I will re- photograph it in about a month so I can watch the progress of the fill in. I want it to look lush.
Here is some of the flowerers I planted. Aster, Dahlietta, Coleus Aurora Black Cherry, Lantana, Gold Mound, Lantana Altura, Vinca, Orange and Yellow Osteospermum, there is more, but I can’t remember all the names and don’t have them all written down yet.
Here is my little garden it does not look so great right now but it will! Steve made the planter boxes and I stained them with my red stain.
I’ve been cleaning and cleaning and going through everything and getting rid of things. In the evenings I make digital scrapbook pages.
I am working on the computer room today and I am almost done cleaning in here. Got rid of a lot of stuff and found a old Polaroid Camera. Those were always fun, but I love my digital camera. In fact I am getting a new one. In order to buy the new one I have to sell things I think are worth anything on ebay. The rest of the stuff like frames and clothing and household kitchen things I am giving as Donations.
I’d better get back to work I have to go get things ready to sell on Ebay to pay for my new camera I am buying. After doing a lot of research the biggest bang for your buck is the Sony-Alpha 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera. You can’t beat it. It’s an awesome camera and will do all the things I want it to do. I am so excited to get it.
Have a great week!

Although Mark Levin is known as a constitutional lawyer and a nationally syndicated broadcaster, he is, first and foremost, a dog lover. In 1998, he and his family welcomed a half-Border Collie/half-Cocker Spaniel they named Pepsi into their lives. Six years later, his wife and son persuaded him to adopt a dog from the local shelter, a Spaniel mix. It turned out he was older than originally thought, and he was the most beautiful dog they'd ever seen. They named him Sprite. Their lives would never be the same.
